Green Initiative
Carver Tubs understands our role in providing quality products while maintaining a proper balance with our environmental impact during the process. We have continually taken measures to reduce the material waste throughout our manufacturing process and use products that have as little of a negative impact on the environment as possible. Due to the relatively simple nature of our tub manufacturing process there are only a small number of parts used to produce each tub. Our green initiative started with the largest of our tub components - the acrylic.
Carver Tubs are manufactured with WeatherPro S acrylic from Spartech Plastics. WeatherPro S™ is an acrylic cap co-extruded ABS sheet that can be produced as a two or three multi-layer composite. The acrylic, which can be pigmented with metallic and high chroma colors, imparts a very high gloss with a superior depth of image. WeatherPro S is an advanced material and part of our Green Initiative program. The plastic sheet material is extruded with a weather able, paint replacement acrylic surface over a high impact ABS substrate. When used to replace gel coated fiberglass in applications like utility vehicle hoods, it contributes to a cleaner environment by eliminating the need for VOC emitting gel coat sprays and reducing the VOC emissions generated during the glassing phase of manufacturing.
These are but a small step toward our goal of producing the most environmentally friendly product we can without sacrificing the quality and performance you deserve. As we continue to work with our suppliers and process engineers we will strive to shrink our environmental footprint and along the way continue to show others that Made In The USA can be done the right way.
