Carver whirlpool bathtubs offer you the unique opportunity to enjoy a relaxing spa like experience in the comfort and privacy of your own home.  Options for 6 and 12 jet whirlpool systems give you the ability to choose the proper amount of hydrotherapy for your bathing needs.  All 6 jet systems (Whirlpool I package) include a 3/4 horse power motor, air and suction controls.  Our 12 jet whirlpool system (Whirlpool II package) includes a 1 1/2 horse power motor, air and suction controls.  All of our whirlpool bathtubs allow you to add options such as an inline water heater, chromotherapy mood light kit, air massage jet system, tile flange, aromatherapy kit and more.  Pricing starts with our soaking tub prices and allows you to build your tub as desired.

Kick up your bathing experience a notch by adding some whirlpool jets to your soaking tub.  All 26 of our bathtub models can be customized with 6 or 12 whirlpool jets. Whirlpool bathtubs are perfect for massaging tired, achy muscles. Our jets are specifically placed to maximize the benefit of a whirlpool tub.  This ensures you get the jets aimed at key places on your body. The jets shoot out water at a rate of 30 gallons per minute.  All of the whirlpool jets are controlled with a simple on/off control and should only be used when the tub is filled enough that the jets are covered. Running the pump without water can easily burn up the motor.  Popular traces through histroy for whirlpool bathtubs show they were first introduced in the late 1960's and quickly gained popularity because of the advantage of having the spa-like atmosphere in your own home. You can get the advantages of a spa without the expense of traveling and treatments.

Many sports injuries are treated (or supplementally treated) with whirlpool therapy. This is a step up from just a normal soaking bath. You don't have to be an athlete to enjoy the benefits of a whirlpool bathtub. Anyone that's ever suffered from sore muscles can appreciate the powerful jets that massage while they sit back and relax. A word that you may hear a lot when it comes to bathtubs is hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy is using water as a means of pain relief. Soaking and jetted tubs are the perfect example of this.

Whirlpool bathtubs are not expensive to operate. They cost the same on average as any other major household appliance. The electrical requirements for a standard whirlpool system  is a 20-amp ground-fault circuit interrupter breaker and a 20-amp receptacle. If you have an inline heater a seperate 20-amp ground-fault circuit interrupter breaker and receptacle are required.

Cleaning your bathtub regularly is an important part of keeping it in great condition for many years.  How to clean a whirlpool bathtub is one of the most common questions we get regarding bathtub maintenance.  If you have ever prepared to take a whirlpool and come to find small brown and black flakes in your tub after the whirlpool motor is engaged you are overdue for a bathtub cleaning.  These particles are bits of mildew and other bacteria that need to be taken care of on a fairly routine basis.  Luckily the steps below make it easy to understand and perform the proper cleaning method on your bathtub throughout its life.

  1. Fill your bathtub with hot water approximately 3 inches above the highest jet location
  2. Add approx 1/2 cup of bleach and 2 table spoons of powdered dishwashing detergent (Cascade Complete works well)
  3. Run the whirlpool jets for approx 10 minutes with the air control fully released for maximum turbulence
  4. Shut off whirlpool jets and wait for tub to drain - you will notice less debris each time if you clean your tub regularly
  5. Refill bathtub with cold water to same level approximately 3 inches above the highest jet location
  6. Run jets again for approximately 10 minutes
  7. Drain entirely and enjoy a clean bathing experience

We recommend that you clean your tub regularly based off the amount of use it gets.  For avid whirlpool bathers we suggest cleaning your tub every month.  For less frequent users we recommend cleaning your tub once a quarter (4 times per year) to maintain a desireable cleanliness.  There are also specialty cleaners available for purchase at most plumbing supply stores.  Results are typically guaranteed, but with their convenience generally comes a more expensive cost than the above steps.

For those of you whom would like to simplify the cleaning process simply add the Ozone Sanitation System to your whirlpool tub for a self cleaning upgrade that saves you time and keep your tub sanitary year round.  Ozone Whirlpool Sanitation Systems offer a unique and self sustaining cleaning option for your whirlpool bathtub system.  Ozone sanitation systems automatically introduce proven residential spa ozone technology into your whirlpool bath.  The system infuses ozone's triatomic power into recirculation bath water.  This helps neutralize sediments such as soaps, body oils, and other organic and inorganic materials thay may be found in bath water and plumbing.

Drain and overflow kits are designed to match the fixtures in your bathroom (offered in Chrome, Brass, Brushed Nickel and Oil Rubbed Bronze). Our drain kits are designed to activate and deactivate by an easy push/pull knob. They are heavy duty enough for commercial applications, but still look great and work perfect for residences.

Additional accessories are offered to enhance your experience. The inline water heater is one of our most popular accessories and is only available with the whirlpool system. Inline heaters are not available for air massage bathtubs because the heaters need a water pump.

An inline heater is used as a tool to help keep your water warmer for a longer period of time. Whirlpool baths lose heat quicker than just normal soaking baths. This is because while the whirlpool jets are being operated, they are continuously filling the water with room temperature air.

If you plan on using your bathtub as a shower, the tile flange is a recommended accessory.  The tile flange is a plastic stripping prevents water from running down between the bathtub and the wall.  The flange comes with a self adhesive plastic strip the will be installed around the perimeter of the bathtub/shower walls that will come into direct contact with water.  The tile flange will ship seperately from your tub and needs to be installed onsite during your tub installation to ensure proper fit.

Chromotherapy mood lights add a calming visual element to your bathtub.  Chromotherapy (aka chromatherapy, color therapy or colorology) is a well documented supplimental therapy that can positively effect ones mood.  The use of color can help balance energy in a person's body wherever it is lacking - be it physical, emotional, spirtual or mental.  The addition of a chromotherapy mood light kit to your bathtub offers the unique blend of a wide range of targeted colors to help soothe your imbalances while enjoying your bathtub experience.

Aromatherapy kits are a welcomed addition to any whirlpool system.  Scents released through your whirlpool system fill the area with a sootheing aroma without the messy buildup oils and bath salts leave behind.  ambiance and the aroma therapy kits help soothe. Be aware when using essential oils and bath salts because they can leave residue and buildup in the pipes. Aromatherpy kits are a great addition to your whirlpool system.  Only applicable to out whirlpool systems, the aromatherapy system  does not work with soaking bathtubs.  With various scent options you are able to truly customize your bathing experience.

See our Parts & Accessories page for more details about all of these products.

The air massage system is also on every model upon request.  We can add the air massage system to a whirlpool system or just provide the air massage system by itself.  The air massage package comes with 20 air jets located on the bottom of the tub. These jets push air out for a gentler, more generalized massage. Although air massage jet systems have been around since the 1980’s, it took awhile for them to catch on.  For more information on our air massage system please contact us regarding the best option for your bathtub.  Whirlpool jets give deep, high pressure massage, while air jet massages are lighter and less concentrated. Think of millions of air bubbles gently massaging as you enjoy your soak. Whirlpool jets are designed to target specific parts of the body, and air massage jets are designed to soothe your entire body all at once while allowing you to add bath salts and oils.
