Choosing a New Bathtub

How do I measure for a new tub?
Measure the total length by the total width (LxW) of the available space. Then, determine if you need a buffer between the wall and the tub. You can reach out to our team for help, or enlist the expertise of your local contractor for a precise measurement. You’ll also need to note the location of your existing bathtub drain.

What is the difference between the whirlpool and air massage systems?
Our whirlpool system offers a massaging sensation as water is pushed against your body in a soothing manner. Whirlpool tubs are most often used by those that enjoy advanced hydrotherapy and a deeper tissue massage for aching muscles.

Our air massage system produces bubbles from the bottom of the tub to enhance water circulation and provide a light effervescence. These bathtubs are commonly preferred by individuals who like incorporating bath salts and essential oils into their bathing experience.

Can the whirlpool and air massage systems be used at the same time?
Yes, the whirlpool and air massage systems can be used in conjunction with one another. However, keep in mind that the peak performance of the whirlpool system will be reduced because of the volume of air being injected into the water from the air massage system. This is normal for all whirlpool/air massage combination packages.

Does the pump come with my jetted tub?
It sure does! All of our tubs come fully equipped and with all the items necessary for function.

Bathtub Shipping and Returns

How much will it cost to ship my tub?
A $350 shipping credit is applied to all orders, which generally covers mailing costs. If the amount exceeds $350, you’ll be responsible for the difference in price.

How does my bathtub ship?
We box and securely fasten your bathtub vertically to a pallet prior to shipment. Your order is fully insured during transit.

Our shipping partners are experts at providing residential curbside deliveries and will contact you to schedule a drop-off time. Upon delivery, you’ll need to hire a contractor to have your bathtub installed.

How long does it take to receive my order?
In general, we ask that you allow 10 to 15 business days for the delivery of your bathtub or shower products. Depending on your selections, though, your order may arrive sooner.

I’m located in the Kansas City area. Can I pick up my order from your warehouse?
Absolutely! Contact us to schedule your order pickup accordingly.

What if there is an issue with my tub upon arrival?
While this isn’t a common occurrence, in the event there is an issue with your order when it arrives, be sure to note any damage or problems on the delivery receipt. This should be done while the delivery driver is present.

Then, reach out to us immediately, so that we can investigate the shipment and file a claim with the shipping company. You have 72 hours from the date of delivery to identify and report any concealed damage to your bathtub. Photographs will be required. We’ll work with you to ensure all details are taken care of, so the claim can be filed and a new bathtub shipped as quickly as possible.

Do you accept returns?
Carver Tubs’ warranty covers returns on damaged or defective products.

If there’s no issue, we are unable to accept returns on custom orders. Standard items can be returned with the cost of shipping and a standard restocking fee.

Bathtub Installation Questions

Can I replace my bathtub with an existing deck?
No, Carver bathtubs require an extra two to three inches of room for a mortar bed, which prevents the tub from moving and cracking. This can ultimately affect the height of the tub, interfering with your existing deck.

What electrical requirements do I need to meet to properly install my bathtub?
We recommend a 20-AMP, 110V breaker for each electrical system included in your bathtub. For example, if you have a whirlpool and inline water heater installed, you should have two separate breakers. If you have a whirlpool, inline water heater, and air massage system, plan for three separate breakers.

Why do I need access to the underside of my bathtub?
Access to the underside of the bathtub is recommended in case you need to have the electrical, plumbing, or tub foundation serviced after installation. This access may be located in the bathroom or an adjoining room or closet.

Why is there no overflow hole drilled in my tub?
We don’t pre-drill the overflow hole on most of our bathtubs. From experience, this can cause problems when customized plumbing needs are present and aren’t consistent with the normal location for an overflow. We typically reach out to all of our customers to double check if you’d like the overflow hole factory drilled or left undrilled.

Can my tub be under-mounted?
Yes, for just about every model. Contact us if you’re planning an under-mount installation for your bathtub. There are some helpful tips regarding how to support the material that is mounted on top of the tub. Please make sure that you brace under the tub perimeter appropriately.
